This is my first post on wordpress…. I’ve been thinking of ways that I can document this trip that I am taking. I didn’t want to do it on facebook. I’ve re-established my presence on instagram, but I’m not completely sold on that being the place for the kind of stuff that I want to put out there. And I have heard good things about wordpress lately (podcast promos \ endorsements work, I guess 🙂 ).
My original plan had been to do all of this in Markdown in obsidian, and publish it somewhere, but I didn’t have the focus on the motivation to do the research into all of that.
I write a letter to my Mom, Aunt, Mother in law, and a few others every morning, but that doesn’t seem like quite the place to document the minutia of my trip.
So here we are, giving wordpress a try.
Today’s plan is to head down to Olympia on i5, then head west on 101 towards Astoria. Once I get over the bridge, I’ll see if I can find a place to camp for the evening.
I’m driving a 2000 BMW M5 sedan, with 127k miles on it. I bought this car last august and it has proven to be pretty reliable so far. (Knock on wood). I changed the oil last thursday with 10w-60 Liqui Molly and added some ceratec. This engine is notorious for consuming oil, so I am leaving with 8 extra quarts of oil in the trunk.
