Day 10 – Petaluma to San Fran

I hope today has you getting happier by the hour.

Yesterday was a pretty cool day. The morning started with Eric, Sahale, and I meeting Sahale’s cousin Tomas and his dad Sam at the Pacific Coast Air Museum. That was a pretty cool little museum. They have a bunch of old military planes out on display at an airport. It is not a high-budget operation, by any means, and is all run by volunteers. But they have a nice collection of planes and some interpretation signs. We were chatting about motors with one woman there, and it turns out she is on the board, and since we were interested in this kind of stuff, she took us behind the scenes and showed us more stuff. One of the things that this place does is that it takes civilian planes that folks donate, and the crew of volunteer mechanics refurbishes the aircraft so they are airworthy again, and they sell them, with the proceeds supporting the museum.

From there, we went to Russian River Brewing for lunch. I had an excellent pulled pork sandwich and a sampler of their beers.

From there, we headed back down to Erics places, where I gathered my things, and said my good buys, and left them with a gift of Salt Blade Meets.

I headed down to San Fran to meet Sharron, a friend I used to work with at Expedia way back in the day. I checked out the Maritime Museum and walked along the waterfront until I met up with her, and then we continued to walk and talk until the time for our dinner reservations arrived.

We had a wonderful dinner and dessert, and then I walked her to the Bart station and headed back to my car.

Today is going to be heading south down the 101. It’s pretty foggy at the moment, so I may lollygag here in the city a bit before I head down the highway to see if things clear up at all.

Love Ya

Dan W
