Good Morning! Sunday, May 23rd, 2021
I hope today finds you quietly finding quality in the quantities in your life!
Yesterday was a fantastic day! The weather was great, and Jule took Enzo and Me to Legoland! When I first put this trip together, my thoughts were to hit Disney Land while I was down here in California. Alas, Disney is only open to California residents at the moment.
The drive down to Legoland was nice and smooth. We did have to use Waze to help us get around some terrible traffic, but it was no big deal. Getting into the park was smooth, and the experience was excellent. We were there pretty much all day, doing all of the attractions and rides and just having a pleasant time. At some point, Jule sent a picture of her and me to George. George, Jule, and I used to all be on the same team at Expedia. He texted back, and it turns out that George and his family were down in the area at the zoo. It turns out that they were down in LA at the Turkish consulate to get his wife’s passport renewed. So we had the opportunity to meet up with them at a local brewpub after our park experiences. It was good to catch up with George and meet his wife and daughter and their friends.
The drive home was uneventful, and when we got there, Jonas and I went out to get some sushi to bring home for us to have for dinner. Jonas drove my car to the restaurant, and we ordered a lot of sushi. Fortunately, between the three of us, we were able to finish it all off.
We said our goodbyes as we went off to bed last night, and this morning I got up and 5 and slipped out of the house to start my journey.
I drove north to Ventura, where I am now, to get back on Highway 1, where I got off early in the week to see Faisal and Brendan. The freeways are a lot easier to navigate early on a Sunday morning 😉
Today I will drive as far south as I can on highway 1, and then tomorrow, I will bomb on over to see mom. That should be a pretty easy long day tomorrow. Who knows, maybe I will push on through today for that 🙂
Love you!
Dan W
