Day 21 – Ladera Ranch to Long Beach

Good Morning!

I hope today finds you rested and without regrets, remorse, or resentment in your life!

Things are good here. Yesterday I got up pretty early, slipped out of Jule’s place, and headed North (yes North) back to Ventura, where I left Highway 1 last Monday to see Brendan and Faisal. It took me about 2 hours to get that far north again, but it was early in the morning, so there was no traffic, and I could fly up the road (BMW built this car for exactly that).

Once I got to Ventura, I got back on the Pacific Coast Highway and started heading south. Stopping here and there for this and that, until I got to Long Beach, where I stopped in at our friend Noelle’s place for a visit. We had a beer, and got to chatting, and she invited me to crash at her place for the night so that she could give me a tour of the area. And I decided that would be great. So we headed down to the beach, and she gave me the walk-through of the area. It was such a great experience. The wind was super blowing out there. And I counted at least 49 kit surfers at the beach going back and forth. That was pretty impressive.

From there, we headed down to Huntington Beach, where Noelle used to live, and while down there, we dropped in on my friend Eric W and his wife Linda. (Linda is the sister of Diane, who is Kyle’s wife, who puts together the race cars that I get to drive sometimes). So we had a pleasant visit with them.

We were going to grill after leaving them, but we were hungry, so we decided to go to Noelle’s favorite local spot called the Eldo. Man, was their food good. After dinner, we went back to Nicole’s place, chatted some more, and then crawled into bed.

I got up early this morning, and I have already put in 144 miles as I drove down the PCH to San Diego. Getting off of I5 at the last US exit.

I should get to Mom’s place during the mid to late afternoon.

Love ya!
