Day 27 – Camping day 2 in Prescott with Jack

Good Morning! Sunday, May 30th, 2021

I hope that today finds you enjoying a nice xeriscape but no xeroderma!

Things are good here. Yesterday was another easy day around the campsite. Jack and I had an excellent breakfast of turkey bacon and eggs and then headed out on a hike to the lookout. That was 5 miles, and we were back at the campground by 12:30, which was good because it was getting hot by that time.

When we got back to the campsite, we took naps and read our books for a while. Dinner was chili dogs with onion and cheese on top of them. And that was about that, The fire danger is high in these parts, so we didn’t have a camp fire, so when the sun when down, we went to bed. That made it easier to get up at 5 this morning when the sun came up.

The plan for today is to hike to Thumb Butte. We will start that hike here in the morning so we can finish before it gets too hot.

love ya
