Good Morning! Tuesday, June 8th, 2021
I hope that today finds you healthy and happy!
Yesterday morning I said until next time to my cousin Dan before he went off to work, and then Stacie and Karlee, and I went to breakfast at Ruth’s dinner. This place is a classic old diner that started back in the 1930’s in an old rail car. Ruth was a legend in the area and is still widely respected. This place is well known for its biscuits, so I had their biscuits and gravy, and it was quite good. I have had such an enjoyable time visiting with my cousin, his family, and the members of his ward, these past couple of days.
Once I rolled out of there, I headed on up towards Garland, Utah, to visit Uncle Dan and Aunt Linda. When I arrived, Uncle Dan was making bagels (he had gotten up at 3 am to start his baking day). And I had the opportunity to help with that. Uncle Dan, Aunt Linda, and I had such a wonderful visit. With the beard that Uncle Dan is sporting, it was felt like I was sitting there chatting with my Dad 🙂
Uncle Dan and Aunt Linda are doing well. Uncle Dan’s back is a little sore, but he can get around OK. Their house and yard and the area they live in are just beautiful. They have a large garden, as always. The house is full of pieces of woodworking art that Uncle Dan has made. I got the house tour, and he showed me the rocket stoves and the different iterations that he has gone through to get to the revision that he is at now. That was pretty cool, and I enjoyed that quite a bit.
For dinner, we had a yummy casserole, and after dinner we played farckle for a while (by this point, Cindy had made it home from work, so she joined us for that)
I excused myself for a brief period as I attended the Olympic Manor Community Club meeting on zoom. For that, I laid out on the grass as it had turned quite pleasant outside.
Today, I plan to visit with Aunt Sandi for a bit and then head on to the Grand Tetons.
Love ya!
Dan W
