Day 38 – To Montana

Good Morning! Thursday, June 10th, 2021

I hope today finds you comfortable and content.

Yesterday was a day spent chiefly without cell phone service. I spent most of the day in Yellowstone national park. I got there super early in the morning, so I could get a lot of stuff in before it got crowded. By the time I left the park, it was getting super crowded, and it was slow getting through the park.

Once I left the park, things picked up, and I got cell phone service. I drove from there North on 89 some more. I stopped in Livingston, Montana, to grab a quick bite to eat and had a wonderful conversation with a guy who moved to Montana three years ago when his car broke down while on a road trip. He is a student in wildlife biology and is working on getting a wildlife overpass approved to help protect drivers from hitting large mammals and then joining together populations isolated from each other because of highway 89.

From there, I poked my head into a little book store and had just a wonderful visit with the owner and his friend.

Last night I camped in the Lewis and Clark national forest. Today I am heading up to glacier national park, and will take highway 2 west towards Spokane.

Love ya!

In Livingston Montana I stopped at the Train museum, but alas it closed 5 minutes before I got there.
I did, however, get to see a train roll buy. That was cool
Katabatic Brewing, in Livingston Montana, where I grabbed some tacos for dinner.
I met David Malik, Proprieter of the Sacred Mysteries Book store. Had a wonderful conversation with him and his buddy.
Sun setting on highway 89 in Montana.
My campsite for the evening
A pretty cool canyon as I head north.
