Day 41 – Spokane to Lewiston

Good Morning! Sunday, June 13th, 2021

I hope that today finds you well and full engaged.

Yesterday was a good day, I got up at Judy and Balins in time to see Sam and Perrin off to their job at the crepe shop. I then had a very nice visit with Mike and Sue (Balins folks). And Judy and Balin before heading out. The first place I went was to the crepe shop. I took upper river drive out there, and it was a rather nice drive. Perrin was working the front of the house, so she suggested the apple \ caramel \ Nutella crepe, and that was pretty good. When Sam took his break from dishwashing, he came out and sat with me, and we had a nice chat. He’s going to be a junior next year, so it is time to start thinking about colleges.

After a quick breakfast of crepes, I went over to Uncle Tom and Aunt Do’s house, and had a nice visit with them for an hour or so, before heading on down the road. I think I am getting itchy feet for getting home.

I drove down highway 95, which goes through Idaho to Lewiston, and I have to say the Palouse is such beautiful land. I didn’t get any pictures of it, since I was just enjoying the drive so much, and I realize at this point it is hard to capture some of those vistas.

I stopped at the Moscow Alehouse for dinner and a light beer. While I was at dinner I checked out the iOverlandr app for a place to stay tonight, and I found the Big Spring campground in the Umatilla nationall forest. So I drove down through Lewiston, and then along the south side of the river, and out along some more just beautiful farmland, all of the fields were green and lush with crops growing up.

As I entered the national forest, the road turned into a dirt road, and I drove another 7 miles to this lovely little campground.

Today’s plan is to head through Pendleton and then towards Portland Oregon.

Love Ya

Dan W

PS. I barely have any cell service this morning – so no pictures today.
