Good Morning! Wed, June 16th, 2021
I hope that today finds you hearty and happy, ready to hold onto the happiness of the day!
Yesterday I got up, said goodbye to the Tedrow family, and pointed the car towards home! The drive was nice and easy up I5. I had considered staying off of the freeway, but I just felt like getting home!
Once I got home, I unloaded the car, and gave it a good solid cleaning. It’s now vacuumed, all of the leather inside has been cleaned and conditioned, all of the dust is out of it, and the only thing in it is the owners manual, title, and a box of supplies. Once I finished cleaning up the inside, I ran down to the local car wash and gave it a good wash (including the engine bay). So now it is looking good.,
Now I need to get new tires for the car, and I have to check the brakes and see if they need to be replaced at all.
So here are some stats from the road trip…
- Days: 44
- 19 nights of camping (6 pitched a tent, 13 slept in car)
- 3 nights in Motels
- Remainder of the nights split across 11 different friends and family I stayed with,
- Miles: 6,291
- Gas: 376.5 gal. Avg $3.88/gal. Total gas costs $1,461.05
- Avg MPG: 16.7 mpg
- Oil: ~9 quarts
- Departure weight: 249.3. Arrival Weight 250.1
- Pictures & Videos Taken: 2,649
- Audio Books listened to: 5
- Podcasts listened to: A lot (I have no idea)
I will say that I consider this road trip a great success. I didn’t think about work at all. I didn’t even think about thinking about work. Many many thank you to Catherine for letting me take this trip. It has been outstanding.
In other news… We have four house guests staying with us for the next couple of weeks. They are Dancers that are preparing for a performance, and they are using the Gilbert and Sullivan Space for that. They are wonderful folks. We stayed up pretty late talking with them last night.
Today’s plan is to catch up on some yard work, and then take the dancers out sailing this evening.
Love ya!
Dan W
