Race week – Port Townsend to Anacortes

Good Morning! Sunday, June 20th, 2021

I hope that today finds you in a place of happiness and contentment.

Yesterday was a nice day. We got up, had an excellent leisurely breakfast, and headed out to make the 30 mile run from Port Townshend over to Anacortes. Tom and I were on Corvo, and Stefan was alone on his Catalina 400 sailboat. The currents were pretty good to us, and there wasn’t much wind, but some left over sloppy seas from the wind the day before. This slop made for a somewhat uncomfortable ride. But it was far from the worst trip I’ve taken across the straights.

We arrived in Anacortes at one in the afternoon and made it into our slip for the day. And Stefan made it into the slip that he will have all week. There will be a lot of boat shuffling going on while all of the boats that are not racing are moved off of C dock, so that all of the racers can move in.

We sat around and chatted on the boat for a bit before heading up to the headlands and grabbing lunch at Anthony’s. After lunch, it was nap time :). Tom’s friend Dave came over (he lives in Anacortes), and we chatted with him for a while.

Today’s plan is to get the boat all cleaned up and all of the stuff that is not needed for racing off of it, and then go for a practice sail this afternoon.

Love Ya!
