Raceweek – Monday morning

Good Morning! Monday, June 21st, 2021

I hope that today is finding you with reasonable weather and the capacity to enjoy it.

Things are good here in Anacortes. Yesterday started at a leisurely pace with Tom, Stefan, and I heading to a local place for some yummy breakfast. After breakfast, it was back down to the docks to start getting the boat ready to go and to move into our permanent slip for the week.

Steve and Justin showed up just around 1 in the afternoon, and we went out for a practice sail in the racing area. It was a good thing that we went out, as we had to shake some of the rust off and get into the groove for sailing. The practice went well, and the weather was great! Sunny and warm.

After we got back to the dock, Stefan, Justin, and I headed over to Justin’s favorite fish store (he moved up to Anacortes in January). And we picked up some crab and oysters for dinner.

We got back just in time to listen to the opening statements for the regatta from the organizers. And then it was time to say hello to old friends that we haven’t seen in a couple of years.

After a bit, we pulled out the chairs, and ate our oysters and crab, and just enjoyed the beautiful weather on the dock.

Alex arrived at midnight (we had all gone to bed) and slept on Corvo last night.

The plan for today is to go and make the sandwiches for lunch and then head out to go racing!

Love ya!
