Day 31 – Sedona to the Grand Canyon

Good Day! Thursday, June 3rd, 2021

I hope that today finds you healthy and happy and settling into the pace of the day.

I already wrote about yesterday’s big event, which was the bear mountain Hike. That pretty much wiped me out for the day. I decided that trekking poles would be good, so I went and picked up a set of them after the hike. While I was at the hiker’s hut, I took a peek at some of the Sedona hiking guides, and the hike is considered one of the hardest (if not the hardest) hikes in the Sedona area. So that explains that 😉

After I rolled out of Sedona, I headed up highway 89 towards the Grand Canyon. Along the way, I dropped in on Jack at his new house and gave him a book that I had purchased for him. And then I headed on out. I got to the Grand Canyon via the east entrance, just before sunset. So I went and got a few pictures of that before backtracking to find a place in the national forest to spend the night. I had a super restful night, and this morning arose at around five and headed back into the park. I stopped at each of the pullouts on my way to the village and got some nice pictures. I was hoping to grab some breakfast at the village, but only one place was open, and they were sold out of their breakfast burritos, so I decided to head on out.

I had thought about hiking, but all of the hikes were a little longer then I wanted to undertake, and I’m still a little worn out from yesterday.

I’m currently in Page, AZ, And took a look at the Glen Canyon Dam (which creates lake Powell). And am getting ready to head north into Utah. Tomorrow evening I will meet up with My uncle Dan and Cousin Dan, and whoever else wants to come out and visit with them for a bit.

Love ya!
