Day 34 – Sandy Utah

Good Morning! Sunday, June 6th, 2021

I hope that you are well today, find find yourself comfortable and content.

Yesterday was a good day. In the morning, I headed down to Sandy Utah to hang out with my cousin Dan and his family. I arrived at Dan’s house, just as he was firing up is wood oven (that my uncle Dan built) to cook breakfast for the family, neighbors, and members of his ward. Lot’s of nice folks there for me to chat with, and the food was excellent. I had a wonderful time visiting with the different folks that were there.

After we cleaned up, Dan was called away for a while, by his responsibilities as the Bishop of his Ward with the church. So I had a chance to sit and visit with Stacie, his wife, and we had a wonderful visit, and caught up and learned some more about each other and our respective histories.

The afternoon plan consisted of taking Dan’s and Stacies nephews (8 & 9 years old) , and Stacies dad out fishing. So after Dan returned from his responsibilities and we all visited for a while, and reviewed some family trees, Dan and I headed out to pick me up a fishing license. While I was there, I got a little carried away, and picked myself up an inexpensive Rod and Reel, some hooks, sinkers and bait. We returned from the sporting good store, and Dan’s Nephews and father in law were at the house, so we loaded up the gear, and headed to Lindon Marina on Utah Lake. At Utah Lake we went out to the jetty that protected the marina and swimming hole, and started fishing. Dan is an excellent uncle, and made sure that the boys were well equipped. Between them they caught seven catfish (mud cats as Dan called them). And I caught nothing.

My Cousin Spencer showed up as well, and he didn’t have much luck either.

After Dan and I returned from the Lake, we freshened up a bit, and went over to one of their friends house where a regular group of their friends were gathered for dinner, and and evening of fun and games. We were late for dinner, but arrived in the middle of the party game that they were playing. I introduced myself, and joined in on the game, and ate some leftovers.

After the game was over, l visited in the kitchen with a number of the folks there, and met the Dogs before we headed back to Dan’s house. Once there, we visited some more on the deck, before heading to bed.

This morning, I am going to go to church with Dan and his family, and hang out some more with them.

Love ya!
